And just like that it's Monday again... Back to reality after the Super Bowl. In all honesty, there really shouldn't be work or school the Monday after the Super Bowl. Dramatic of me? Probably. But I must say between the Broncos not scoring until the end of the 3rd quarter and the lack luster commercials, it was a little bit of a bore. I'm obsessed with advertising and branding communication and thats what I study in graduate school (well a little broader, but you get the point) so I'm a huge nerdy when it comes to TV and print ads. So you can imagine my disappointment! I did love the Budweiser ad with the dog and the horse because I'm a sucker for puppies. BUT I saw it 2 days before the debut on the Super Bowl on the Huffington Post. What a spoiler! Oh and Bruno... his performances never really did do it for me so I was indifferent to his performance.
Enough talk about the Super Bowl catastrophe. For today's look, I decided to mix two well known prints: tartan and polka dots. When mixing prints it is best to use no more than 2-3 colors or else it can be very confusing and even worse distracting. I chose a complimenting color combination of navy blue and red for a preppy look. Whether you're going to work or meeting the parents, this look is a classic outfit that can be easily recreated with staple colors, items, and prints.
