I've had a pretty hectic week with helping to plan a major national press conference and sea level rise event. Now that it's over I can finally breathe and catch up on sleep. I wanted to do my lifestyle post this week on the things I enjoy about South Florida and share some candids I took on my recent trip to Ft. Lauderdale beach last weekend.
Hopefully this list will help my fellow South Floridians discover a new place to visit or help anyone traveling down here too! The photos were taken behind a beautiful marina backdrop with the spring/summer 2015 O'Neill high waist swim bottoms I received during swim week this year. They will be available for purchase next year.
- Ft. Lauderdale Beach
Great when I want to have an exciting time (drinks, meet up with other friends) To be honest, I hardly ever go to south beach. It's about a 45 min drive and parking is always a pain. (It's much cleaner too)
- Newport Beach:
Quiet, beautiful, and family friendly, this beach is my favorite when I want seclusion. You can get a cabana, visit the newly renovated pier and/or go jet skiing all in the same area. It's truly a great vacation/staycation location
Oh boy this is a hard one because I'm a foodie and a fatty!
Its a MUST if you're in the Wynwood, Midtown area. This trendy, warehouse looking interior restaurant sells korean BBQ inspired dishes a-la-carte. Their are known for their delicious short ribs but I go there for their sticky pork buns! (Seriously it's a FIVE STAR restaurant)
- S3 Restaurant
This is a great place for dinner with a view! Outdoor seating is the best part of this restaurant as it is right across the ocean, just put your hair up as it tends to get very windy around the beach. At night they have fire pits, lively music and everyone has great time, but its a bit of a more mature crowd. What to order you ask? The mac and cheese dish is DEVINE.
This Boca Raton Theater is my favorite when I want to splurge and really relax. They fully equip you with reclining seats, pillows, blankets, complimentary popcorn and waiter services. Its the perfect place for date nights as well!
- Fury Water Adventures
You have to drive a bit to get here since it's in Key West. You can take all inclusive tours that include jet skiing, parasailing, and snorkeling. PLUS, they give you food on the boat! Its the perfect spot for a mini vacation.
